The University of Copenhagen is looking for postdoctoral Scholars to join our CRISPR Bioinformatics group. You will be part of a growing team that has strong expertise in both computer science and biology, and who will now use this combination to develop new algorithms for analyzing large-scale biological data sets.
Who are we?
Our research group is made up of faculty from both Computer Science (especially bioinformatics) and Biology (especially molecular medicine). Our goal is to understand how genes function in the human body, which can lead us toward cures for diseases like cancer or HIV/AIDS.
What do we do?
We’ve developed algorithms that discover new patterns within large datasets—for example, discovering protein interactions from mouse genome sequences or finding differentially methylated regions between human brains that have been scanned using an MRI machine. We also work on developing novel computational methods for analyzing biological data sets such as gene expression levels measured during development or after treatment with chemotherapy drugs (e.g., HER2 status in breast cancer patients).
Where will you Study?
- University of Copenhagen, Denmark
The University of Copenhagen, Denmark invites applications for a postdoctoral position in CRISPR bioinformatics. The research group is part of the Copenhagen Bioscience PhD program and has been established to study computational aspects of CRISPR-Cas systems with an emphasis on integrating these systems into genome editing approaches.

The candidate should be familiar with existing methods that are currently being used to characterize novel gene editing tools, such as those based on CRISPR-Cas9 or TALENs (Transcriptor Activating Loci). APPLY ALSO: School of Physics and Astronomy International Masters Excellence Scholarships
Level Of Study
- PhD degree
The Copenhagen Postdoctoral Positions in CRISPR Bioinformatics (CBP) is an interdisciplinary research institute studying how organisms interact with their environment and each other on an evolutionary scale through study into basic processes such as growth and development or reproduction.
Our focus lies on understanding these interactions at molecular level using state-of-the art research technologies such as microscopy imaging or genomics sequencing techniques together with classical laboratory experiments under controlled conditions in order to gain insight into how these processes work at both microscopic level as well as more macroscopic levels such as whole organism physiology etcetera.
