Conclusion

I can say without hesitation that the University of Leeds is a fantastic place to work. The atmosphere at the university is very collegial and welcoming, with an excellent student body and staff who really care about each other. All of this makes for a great work environment, but what really sets Leeds apart from other UK universities is its focus on international post-doctoral research fellowships. When I was looking at different universities around Europe, I noticed that none of them offered much in terms of funding opportunities for international researchers like some students who want to stay at home after completing their PhDs abroad. However, when I looked into what kind of things were available at Leeds University with regards to funding opportunities for PhD students or post-docs who were not eligible for any other grants such as European Fellowships (for example), there were some amazing ones! It was clear right away that this place would be perfect if it came down to making life decisions based solely on career opportunities.
